Cookies
A cookie is a small text file which is placed onto your device (e.g. computer, smartphone, or other electronic device) when you visit our website to store a range of information, for example, your language preference, your sign-in state, or the browser and device you are using to view the website. Cookies that are set by us are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by a domain different from the domain of our website — for example, by our analytics providers — are called third-party cookies.
Session cookies expire each time you close your browser and do not remain on your device afterwards. These cookies allow our website to link your actions during a particular browser session.
Persistent cookies will remain on your device for a period of time, and will expire on a set expiration date, or when you delete them manually from your cache. These cookies are stored on your device in between browser sessions and allow your preferences and actions across our website to be remembered.
Similar Technologies
In addition to cookies, we may use other similar technologies to understand how our service is used:
- Web beacons are small, transparent images (also known as "pixel tags", "web bugs", or "GIFs") that contain a unique identifier. They may be embedded into a website or an email. When your browser reads the code of the website, it communicates with our server in order to display the image and, through this process, we are able to acquire information such as technical specifications of your device, operating system, and settings. Web beacons in emails enable us to recognize when an email was opened, from what IP address, and from what device. We use this information to improve our email communications.
- Software development kits (SDKs) are third-party software components that may be included in our mobile applications, if and when we offer them. SDKs help us understand how you interact with our applications and collect certain information about the device and network you use to access them.
- HTML5 local storage and session storage are browser features that allow information to be stored locally within the browser's data files. Local storage operates in a similar way to cookies but differs in that it can hold greater amounts of information and does not rely on an exchange of data with the website's server. We use local storage to remember interface preferences and to support the operation of the Graspen application.
- Device identifiers are strings of numbers and letters that are unique to a specific device. Where our applications use device identifiers, we use them for service operation and analytics purposes, not for cross-app advertising. You can reset your device identifier in the settings of your device.
We do not use Flash cookies (local shared objects) or fingerprinting techniques to identify you.
How We Use Cookies
We group the cookies and similar technologies we use into the following categories:
- Strictly necessary (essential) cookies — required for the website and the Graspen service to function, for example to keep you signed in, secure your session, and remember your cookie consent choices. These cannot be switched off in our systems.
- Functionality cookies — used to recognize you when you return to our website and to remember your preferences (for example, your choice of language or theme).
- Analytical or performance cookies — used to count visitors, understand which pages are most and least popular, and see how visitors move around our website, so we can improve how it works.
- Marketing (targeting) cookies — used to make advertising more relevant to your interests. We do not currently use marketing or advertising cookies on graspen.ai. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent before setting them.

These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. Marketing (Targeting) Cookies
We do not currently use marketing or targeting cookies on graspen.ai, and we do not allow third-party advertising networks to set cookies through our website. If we introduce such cookies in the future — for example, to measure the effectiveness of our own advertising campaigns — we will update this Cookie Policy, list the specific cookies here, and, where required by applicable law, obtain your consent before setting them.

Where required by applicable law, when you first visit graspen.ai we ask for your consent before setting any non-essential cookies. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent because the service cannot function without them.
